Understanding the Curves

Posted on January 3, 2009 written by Mark

Chris Brogan’s video, Think in Curves, inspired me to share my own spin on thinking in curves.

Get In Relationship with the Curves

Do you live your life from one straight line to the next?  Like moving from one separate idea or project without seeing the relationships.  Getting in relationship with curves in our life and biz is huge. By thinking spherically you can bring much more awareness to your movement. Too many curves without insight and growth, you just go in circles. Connect the curves with insight and you move forward up the spiral. Stay in the center of the spiral and you see all the curves coming.fern

Let Go of Straight

Straight line thinking tends to create more challenge and stress.  It’s also a limited success path.  Keeping your life and your business on a straight path takes a lot of energy.  When something has to change ( and it will ) a bigger change is often required.  We really can not follow a straight line in our thinking forever.  It’s not the way the earth moves and it’s not the way we’re wired to live.  Let go of straight line thinking and you open a periphery of continual insight.  Shift from straight line thought and planning to spherical awareness.

Think Spherically

Everything you think and do informs everything else that you think and do.   Your thoughts and actions all relate bringing together an ever expanding circle of wisdom.   Get in touch with all the curves and weave your thoughts in spherical flow patterns.

  • You are the center
  • And you are the circle
  • Think from the center
  • Move from your center
  • Be aware of the whole circle
  • Feel all the interconnections
  • Notice what feels better
  • Let those feelings be your guide
  • Stay in your center
  • Chose what feels better
  • Keep moving
  • Keep feeling
  • Keep noticing
  • Keep flowing

What’s flowing with you?

YES!!!! YES!!! YES!!! this is the key to generational perception/change….the ancestors HAD to think in a straight line…that form of thought and action was essential to those generations…..now it is the Lemmings over the cliff.

Spherical and circle thinking is the indicator that collective consciousness of humanity has evolved/is evolving to the integrated and resonate state of Being with the Earth/Universe that sources our physical presence.

What a gift you are to the NOW moment of life, Mark….thank goodness for this canvas (site) to be available so the world can view your creativity….any time of day or night…YEAH, World Wide Web….a BIG circle for humanity.

    Blessings and appreciation to you,

    Kay

@Kay Thank you for going us here at this circle of thinking. I would love to explore how your Point of Power model informs this kind of thinking.

@Debra Thanks for helping me keep swirling.

Lovely post, Mark. I’ve always had circular, interconnected thinking and it’s embedded into my culture way back. Circles are ‘magical’.

Did you know you can learn faster sitting in a circle as a group than when you’re sitting in rows in a classroom?

Also, sitting at eye level goes along with the teaching that we are all equal because we all have our special gifts to share.

    Thanks for sharing.

Brenda, Thanks for joining our circle with your circle wisdom. You shared some beautiful ways to teach.

We home schooled our son and did circle schooling with the ohana on Kauai regularly. There is something about being able to connect with the entire circle face to face that really facilitate a group experience.

I wish my schooling was that way. I’m happy to now be learning the wisdom of circles.

Roni, So cool to have you drop by at my new circle on the web. WHOLE-archy is right on! It’s in alignment with the natural flow and where were all spinning towards, whether we are aware of it or not. Thanks for wheeeeeeing with me. :)

Weeeeeeee as my starry soul sister Roni would say, HA :)
Funny how most members of our universal family don’t pay attention to the OBVIOUS – obvious BEing that we live/exist within a round world.
Therefore our ‘natural’ BEingness flows in circular motion. Trying to flow in a straight line, is like living in a world that is flat – living WHOLE-archically supports “spherical thinking” – unfortunately our world is run on a Hierarchical ’system’ hence “straight line thinking”.

WE are Mandalas of Light, spiraling WITH the natural flow of our earthly womb, planet Mandala !!!

    Blessed Light,

  9. Hi. Came here via Twitter. This is fascinating to me, as i just reviewed Angeles Arrien’s book Signs of Life on my blog, looking at the essential archetypal natures of the circle, spiral, square, triangle and cross. I think you would find that interesting! Thanks.

  10. Great perspective… RT @kalalea: And if your just spinning in circles try moving forward in spirals – http://is.gd/eNbV
